Buy-A-Brick Fundraiser
The South Plainfield Education Foundation has recently created an Alumni Association for South Plainfield High School.
There are many reasons why the creation of an Alumni Association is a
wonderful idea. First - the yearly Hall of Fame at the High School has
been an event that has been held since 1995. The Hall of Fame has been
paid for every year by the High School. However, due to funding
restrictions, the High School is no longer able to pay for the event.
There is a luncheon for the inductees and each inductee receives a
plaque and there is a plaque that is placed on the High School walls as
you enter the building. By creating an Alumni Association, the Hall of
Fame can continue for the future by the Alumni Association holding a
few fundraisers during the year. Second - the Alumni Association will
be a great resource for each class as they reach out to their
classmates to hold their reunions. And lastly - by reaching out to
former students, the Education Foundation will have a larger database
to include in all of our fundraisers.
As
one of its first major projects, the Education Foundation has assisted
the Alumni Association in publishing an Alumni Directory. The Directory
starts with the first graduating class and includes all subsequent
years through the Class of 2009.
