16th Annual South Plainfield Business Association & South Plainfield Education Foundation Golf Outing

Each year the South Plainfield Business Association and the South Plainfield Education Foundation join together to honor Emil Leporino who was instrumental in the formation of the South Plainfield Education Foundation. While he was a member of the South Plainfield School Board, a committee was formed to look into ways to connect the business community with the education community. In 1994, as a result of the committee’s work, the South Plainfield Vision 2001 Education Foundation was formed. Since the year 2001 has come and gone, the group has been renamed the South Plainfield Education Foundation, but the goal of the organization has remained unchanged; to provide scholarships for graduating seniors and to provide educational incentive programs throughout the district.

Emil was an active member of the South Plainfield Business Association, where he served as vice president. He owned his own insurance business in South Plainfield, where he continuously worked with the business community to improve communication with the town government, and further the objectives of the South Plainfield Business Association; to organize and unite the businesses in South Plainfield, in a manner that promotes the development of local business, and creates a better business environment throughout the borough.
